To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Gomez and Blanco released the album’s first single, “Scared of Loving You,” accompanied by a music video offering a glimpse into their relationship. The album is described as a personal exploration of their love story, from their initial meeting to their current relationship and future aspirations.

Gomez shared the news on Instagram, stating, “I always trick you guys, my NEW album, I Said I Love You First, with my best friend Benny Blanco, is out on 3/21. Our first song, Scared of Loving You is out now on all streaming platforms. Merchandise and signed products for the album are available for pre-order now. We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon.”

A press release further elaborated on the album’s themes: “The album celebrates the pair’s love story, giving fans a unique window into their relationship. This album came together organically as a direct result of the comfort that they both felt when working together creatively, allowing them to produce art that authentically reflects their experiences. It chronicles their entire story – before they met, falling in love, and looking to what the future holds.”

This announcement comes after Gomez expressed her intention to focus on acting following her experience in Jacques Audiard’s musical, Emilia Perez, stating it would be difficult to return to music after such a fulfilling experience.
